Anonymous sent: What are the Aldo boots that you are wearing in your latest fit, and can you comment on the quality? The "style forum" people having nothing good to say about them, but they're cheap and stylish and I like the look of them.
I have been getting questions about boots, so this works out. I don’t read the “style forum”, and maybe I just got a pair that was built better than the others but I wore these around everyday this past weekend in New York and they were great.

I:

I don’t plan on climbing any mountains with them, nor do I think they will last a lifetime, but they are rather inexpensive and nice. So yeah, why not?
Andrew’s shoes are pretty cool.

Look for a pair that is going to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
Spending a few extra dollars might be necessary but good boots last. I do a lot of walking; the Palladiums are a comfy pair. Thanks broo.

qu33rbait sent: So, I'm in need of dark brown shoes. I was wondering where you'd recommend buying dark brown boots/casual shoes. Kind of like the boots you got at American Eagle.. :)?
Jonathan,
Great question (as I am currently obsessed with boots) so I have been looking around for well priced, nice looking pairs.
Here we go: Aldo Shoes does a good job at supplying a variety of different boots that are well priced depending on what you want to spend. I was in two Aldo’s this weekend while in NYC and tried on a few pairs; they’re comfortable and built well for what you pay. They also have a great range of casual shoes to start off your closet with.
(Personal favorites: Habermehl, Holstrom)
Steve Madden has well priced boots. I was also in their store and bought these in black leather. Again, the Gatsbys I linked you to first are good looking, vintage boots and are priced at $47.
AE is a brand I never thought I would buy again after High School, but they have done a good job at keeping up with fashion. I would wear the pairs shown.
Palladium also sells very well priced, comfortable (and versatile) boots. I own a pair and they are probably my favorites (until the two pairs I ordered come in the mail). I love the name and the different ways you can wear them. Plus, they’re extremely comfortable to walk around in.
(Personal favorite: Pallabrouse Baggy)
When it comes to boots and especially shoes, you want to buy a pair that you’re going to wear a lot so that you create your own vintage, beat up shoe look. You want to keep them around for a while. If that means spending a few extra dollars, then spend them. I got lucky with AE’s prices, but that means you have to keep checking different sites regularly (like the fashion nerd I am).
Hope this helps, Jon. I’ll let you know if I come across anymore.

Interrupted Daniel mid-bite, but I could not pass this one up. Great conversation, had no problem with me interrupting his lunch for some pictures.
Thanks, Daniel.
Plain T-Shirt: Weekly Item

So I put these on this morning and thought, do I have to put these away when the cold weather breaks?

Nahh, I’mma (I’m going to be) wearing these all spring, maybe summer? Style can be as sporadic as you make it. Might even wear them with some jean shorts (…….might not..) Dont subjectify yourself to “current” fashions all the time. Have fun with your own style and what works for you. Get to the point where current fashion is something you incorporate in to your own style.
Also, wanted to wish a happy birthday to an awesome Plain T-Shirt follower, akindlystranger . Your input is great to read, always hope to hear from you. Hope it was (and still is you Cali bum) a great one, Mr. Martin.
